Overview

The Taiwan Summer University Program will explore the theme “Uncertainties and Challenges in a Changing World.” The program will examine how societies respond to social change, educational reform, technological disruption, and evolving questions of identity, with particular attention to youth development, civic engagement, and community resilience.

Hosted in Kaohsiung by National Sun Yat-sen University, the program combines academic seminars, peer dialogue, field visits, and structured reflection sessions. Joined by Parami undergraduate students and Taiwanese youth, the program creates space for meaningful exchange on shared regional and global challenges.

Sessions may explore topics such as AI in higher education and the future workforce, including ethical considerations, practical applications, and broader societal implications; education reform and equity for marginalized communities; indigenous knowledge, language, and curriculum; youth-led and community-based initiatives; and the relationship between identity, culture, and civic life in Taiwan. Through interdisciplinary perspectives, students will examine how institutions and communities navigate uncertainty while sustaining inclusive and participatory systems.

In addition to academic engagement, the program will incorporate practical workshops on presentation skills, collaborative problem-solving, and team-building to strengthen students’ communication and leadership capacities.
